Everyone is talking about e-marketing being the in-thing and the fastest way to escalate your store sales. But, how can you maximize on online marketing to realize profits? Here are 10 proven tips that will guarantee your success with online marketing.

Learn The Difference Between What Works And What Doesn’t

Unfortunately, creativity does not always directly translate to sales. At least not in e-marketing or online marketing. To ensure your creativity is working, keep checking your results. Moreover, continue doing the things that give the best results. if you have an online store, it is important to install a technology that can tracks visitors. For example, the technology should provide information on how visitors found your site. You can also ask visitors to fill in a questionnaire with that information after their purchase.

Have A Web Address That Makes Sense

Invest time to think and decide the website URL (address) to use. Believe it or not, your site will attract more visitors if it effectively communicates your idea and is unique. It might be challenging to find a good domain name as most have been taken. However, you can go for something that has a similar name to your company’s.

Market Your Store Extensively

The first marketing strategy to implement are the ones you already have. If you are already using a company letter head, brochures and business cards, simply include your web address in them. Another marketing strategy to pay attention to is search engine optimization. Your e-commerce business won’t yield any worthwhile returns if it can’t be found on the first page of Google. Even if you have to pay your web developer for this, do it as it will be worth the money.

Another method worth considering is the pay-per-click (PPC) marketing that’s offered by Google. This is where you allow Google to advertise on your website and you pay in exchange.

Don’t Underestimate The Power Of Social Media

Don’t look at social media as only a place to connect. You can market yourself and get a massive following (buyers and referrals). For example, if you are selling cocktail dresses online, you can find customers by simply participating actively in social media discussions in forums, blogs, Facebook and Twitter  However, it is important that you know the terms and conditions of the sites you want to market yourself. Also, provide as much information as required when asked. Consistency is integral when exploring into the possibilities presented by social media.

Create Website Links And Referral Schemes

You will only see returns when you are on the first page of search engines. A proven way to help you in this is creating links from other sites. You can either buy links from related websites with yours or use keyword of their products in your site and link back to them. Not only will this increase  your ranking, it will also boost your traffic. You could also create a referral scheme that enables the linking site to financially benefit from your sales. However,  this will need you to invest in some other service or software.

Don’t Limit Your Marketing To Purely Online

Although you are after new customers online, remember that people don’t live online 24/7. When online, have a system that can capture details of customers that visited the site but didn’t make a purchase, or those that cancelled their purchase, so that you can get feedback from them. When you go offline, using marketing strategies like direct mail may help boost traffic.
